About Kerry Diana

I specialize in helping adults with ADHD better understand themselves and make meaningful changes in the areas of life that feel difficult or overwhelming. This may include self-esteem, impulsivity, relationships, work or school performance, organization, procrastination, and managing emotions.

If you find yourself knowing what you need to do but struggling to actually do it, repeating patterns you want to change, or becoming frustrated with yourself when strategies do not seem to stick, therapy can help. My approach combines practical strategies for changing unhelpful thought and behavior patterns with a deeper understanding of why certain reactions continue, even when you know they are not helping.

I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Rather than viewing avoidance, self-criticism, anxiety, or other difficult patterns simply as problems to eliminate, we can become curious about why they developed and what keeps them going. My goal is to help you develop useful skills while also gaining a better understanding of yourself, so the changes you make feel realistic and sustainable.

As someone who also lives with ADHD, I understand how it can affect both personal and professional life. I bring that lived experience into my work while recognizing that ADHD looks different for every person.

I received my master’s degree in Counseling from Seton Hall University in 2003 and am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Arizona.

Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy cooking, road trips, movies, and video games. These are some of the ways I like to slow down and recharge.

My Approach

I tailor each session to your individual needs and goals using evidence-based approaches including Rational Living Therapy (RLT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Sessions are structured and focused so we can use your time intentionally while still making room to explore what is happening beneath the surface.

My primary approach is Rational Living Therapy (RLT), a structured form of CBT that combines practical strategies for changing unhelpful thoughts and behaviors with a deeper exploration of the beliefs and emotional patterns influencing them. We may look not only at what you want to change, but why certain reactions continue, where they developed, and what purpose they may have served. This allows us to build practical skills while also developing insight that can support meaningful, lasting change.

Rather than treating anxiety, avoidance, self-criticism, or other difficult patterns simply as problems to eliminate, I believe it is often helpful to approach them with curiosity and understand what keeps them going. From there, we can work toward responding to yourself and your experiences in new ways.

My style is warm, empathic, collaborative, and solutions focused. My goal is to provide a welcoming space where you feel heard and understood while we build insight, strengthen skills, and help you create meaningful change in your life.

In addition to specializing in adult ADHD, I work with anxiety, depression, panic attacks, OCD, stress management, and life transitions.
